Modernismmmm.

Modernists believe the world we live in is created by their perceptions, that the world is different to everyone. That is true to some extent. People have their own views on different subject matters and issues, but we all live in the same place, and (we should) abide by the same rules. Modernists believe that every individual is by themselves, secluded, with nothing to hold onto. Modernists consider nothing to be absolute truth and hold onto ideas from the past.
To me, it seems like Modernists are not very happy people. Being alienated and secluded and relying on gaining life experience from loss and despair more than likely would lead to depression. It's obvious that those who believe in Modernism don't live by religion and that might be where they go wrong.
The reading in Psalm exemplified the complete opposite of Modernism. The Psalmist viewed God as being forever surrounding and that no individual is ever alone, which opposes the perception that Modernists have as being alienated. Psalm 139:7-8 says, "Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there." That's the belief of Christians, or at least the majority of them, but Modernists tend to flee from their minds any thought relating to that.
Modernists celebrate inner strength, but do they not ask others for help in difficult times? Psalm 139:24 says, "See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." The Psalmist knows that he has times when he knows he isn't perfect and needs guidance from the Lord to steer him on the right path. I don't know how people can rely on themselves being the provider of everything in their lives when it's inevitable that they'll need help eventually, and not from other humans. We need God every day in our lives to help us with hurt and struggles and to provide a sense of relief from time to time.
I'm not sure if I've met any Modernists, but I'm sure if I came into contact with one, I would attempt to better understand their mindset and perceptions of everything about life and if possible, share the word of Christ with them to spread the joy of God.
